What Has This Work Made Possible?

Michael Heiser’s work has reached people all over the world, but numbers alone cannot tell us what that work has made possible.

We hear pieces of these stories from time to time: people who began to understand Scripture in a new way, found answers to questions they had carried for years, rediscovered confidence in the Bible, or finally encountered a vision of God large enough to make sense of the biblical story, but the impact does not end with personal study.

People are using Dr. Heiser’s work in churches, classrooms, Bible studies, podcasts, ministries, books, translations, online communities, missionary settings, academic research, and conversations with friends and family. Some of you out there are creating entirely new projects. Others are helping friends or congregations read Scripture with greater understanding. We would like to hear more of those stories, and to highlight them to share and encourage others, or even to give people new ideas.

Perhaps Dr. Heiser’s teaching, or something associated with the Michael S. Heiser Foundation, has:

• strengthened your understanding of God and Scripture;

• helped you work through doubt, confusion, or difficult theological questions;

• encouraged you when you felt isolated in your interests or unable to find others asking the same questions;

• helped you find or create a community;

• shaped the way you teach, preach, write, study, disciple, or serve;

• inspired a class, study group, podcast, ministry, book, translation, website, research project, or other resource;

• given you material you have been able to use in an unexpected setting;

• or simply changed the way you read a particular passage.

Your story does not have to be dramatic. A conversation, a new question, a better framework for reading Scripture, or the discovery that you were not alone are all things that are worth sharing.

We are also interested in what you are doing with the material now.

Have you developed a project, ministry, resource, study, or other work shaped by Dr. Heiser’s scholarship? You are welcome to tell us about it and include a link when appropriate.

We would also like to know what might help you continue. Is there a resource you have been unable to find? A subject you would like to see explored? A need within your church, ministry, community, or area of study? Your responses can help us recognize gaps, generate new ideas, and make better decisions about what MSHF should preserve, develop, publish, and support.

As we prepare for the Divine Council Worldview Conference in Colorado on October 9–10, we have been thinking not only about bringing people together for one event, but also about the much larger community that has grown around this work.

We want to understand where that community is, what people are doing, and how Dr. Heiser’s scholarship continues to bear fruit in places we may never have heard about. These stories can encourage others. They can introduce readers to creative ways of using the material. They can help the MSHF understand what resources are most needed. They can also help us show supporters what their contributions make possible.

There is no required length. Tell us what happened, what you are doing, and what seems most important for us to know.

Though the initial contact form won’t allow for all this information, through extended conversation with us, you are welcome to share with us your name and general location; a photograph, if you would like; links to relevant projects or resources; how you first encountered Dr. Heiser’s work; how the material has affected you or others; what you have done with it; and what kind of resource or support would help you continue.

Although the website form requires your name, you may ask us to identify you publicly by your first name only or to keep your story anonymous.

The Foundation may contact contributors for permission about quoting, shortening, editing, or adapting a story for a future article, the newsletter, video, conference presentation, donor communication, social-media post, or other MSHF resource. We will confirm how you would like to be identified before publicly sharing material submitted through the private contact form, so if you just want the team to be edified by your story, we’d love to hear those things, too!

We may not be able to respond personally to every submission, but every story will help us understand the continuing reach of this work.

The Michael S. Heiser Foundation exists not only to preserve Dr. Heiser’s work, but also to make it accessible, extend its reach, encourage new scholarship, and help people engage Scripture in its ancient context.

That work requires both stories and support.
