Hi, I’m Mackenzie. I’ll occasionally send out a newsletter with updates on my various projects – mostly about foreign policy, politics, water rights, agricultural regulations, climate security, remote tech teams, and community building – and what I’ve learned so far. You can learn more about this newsletter, and its title, on the About page.
Currently, I’m the cofounder of The Next 50, an organization making politics more accessible to young people. I’m also on the Board of Directors of Interact, a nonprofit community of mission-driven technologists. On the side, I’m doing research on water rights in the Central Valley and climate security in the U.S. military. In the past, I started an open source software infrastructure company, which got acquired by CoreOS in 2016. In college, I managed a startup coworking space, founded a national hackathon, interned for my U.S. Senator, interned in the U.K. House of Commons, and worked for a semester at the U.S. Department of State.
Wondering what the common thread is between all of these experiences? You and me both. This newsletter is an attempt to figure that out.
In the meantime, tell your friends!
