A room full of the right people will teach you more than 1000 books.
Help me fill the room and we shall move together.
If you’re like me, you sat in the classroom, followed the curriculum, did what the expert said, and somewhere along the way, quietly, without anyone naming it, you learned that knowledge belongs to other people. That your job is to receive, absorb, repeat correctly.
Most of us grew up believing that. I did too. And for a long time it seemed fine, until it didn’t. Until the map stopped matching the territory and you realised the whole model was built on one assumption: that the teacher is full and you are empty.
Knowledge flows down from the authority who holds it.
Expert to student. The teacher knows, the student receives.
I don’t believe in that model anymore. I’m not sure I ever did.
Because there’s a moment when something transfers that has nothing to do with any of that.
Beyond the knowledge, the techniques, the kept secrets, beyond the years of repetition. Something harder to name, a way of moving through difficulty, a relationship with uncertainty, a quiet inner signal that says: I’ve been here before. I know how to find my way.
We are all students to life. The question is when does someone become a teacher.
Life unfolds very differently for all of us. Same experience, different points of tension. And at some point, if you’ve been paying attention, you feel it. The weight of what you’ve learned sitting in you, pressing outward. You could choose a more comfortable path, keep it to yourself. But in the complexity of life, the responsibility you feel is the call.
The call to share so you can learn. So we can all figure this out together.
The teacher is just the antenna, picking up a signal, pointing somewhere. And the student, the real student, the one who showed up with genuine hunger, is the one doing the receiving. The one who takes what’s in the air and turns it into something real in their hands.
You heard me talk all through 2025 about being a creator, a co-creator of this reality.
I could pull you into quantum physics, the observer effect, entanglement, the hermetic laws, our electromagnetic field. But the only thing I want to write today is this, from T.S. Eliot:
We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.
The student doesn’t receive something foreign.
They remember something they already carried but couldn’t put into words, couldn’t manifest. The teacher creates the conditions where your own knowing can finally come up to the surface.
I’ve always been a little suspicious of the word “teacher” for this reason. The best ones I know are obsessive students first. They learn something until they can’t help but pass it on. They do not want authority but are pressed by the knowledge which wants to move.
Through them, into the world, into the hands of the people who are ready.
In a world more divided than ever, where we are a screen away from each other, we forgot something important about real learning.
You cannot do it alone.
And you cannot do it on a screen, not in the ways that actually matter.
Something happens when you’re in the right room. With people. With bodies in motion, shared meals, a morning practice in a garden before the day even starts. A field forms in that space, invisible but completely real, and that field is where the actual transmission happens.
You can watch every video, read every book. But when you’re standing at a table with your hands in something real, surrounded by people who showed up with the same intention, something else comes online.
The learning stops being information and starts moving through your body, not just your mind.
The people around you form you, whether you notice it or not. This is how humans have always learned: in proximity, in community, doing things together, eating together, struggling together, discovering something small on a Tuesday afternoon in Tuscany and having someone beside you say yes, I felt that too.
That is the field. And the field cannot be streamed.
This is why I chose The Transmission School. And why I’m inviting you.
From May 18 to 25 I’ll be living and teaching in the Tuscan countryside near Volterra, at a residential community built around exactly this understanding.
The Transmission School is a living project, a group of people who joined forces in a farmhouse surrounded by nature, building a new way of living based on soul relations, self-healing, and evolution. Their vision goes all the way down: integrating all levels of consciousness to return to a harmonious relationship between people and the earth. My week sits inside a 6-week residential programme called Responsibility for Our Creation, alongside teachers bringing geomancy, agroecology, 5Rhythms movement, dreamwork, Qi Gong, transpersonal process work. You can join for the single week or stay for the full programme.
I chose them because the frame matches the content. You need a garden. You need shared meals. You need the kind of morning that slows you down enough to actually receive.
The week is called Sovereignty through Craft.
Seven days of hands-on kitchen work: plant-based cooking from scratch, zero-waste approach, natural remedies, fresh recipes, and a slow purposeful approach to food I’ve spent years distilling into something teachable. Every day starts early with morning practice, garden meditation, Qi Gong, or yoga. Breakfast is organic and shared. We work twice a day, hands in real ingredients, building skills you’ll carry home. Evenings are also community, music, conversation, or quiet.
A week of life. With me.
What we create, who we feed, how we choose to interact with ingredients, it’s all a form of responsibility. A vote we cast every day, mostly without thinking. The theme of the programme is not decoration. It’s the whole point.
You can come for a single week or just a couple of days, shared accommodation and all meals included. You can also combine it with other weeks from the full programme. You are also invited to come for the other teachers too.
Spots are limited but the school will do anything to accommodate you so do not hesitate to contact them.
I’ve taught in UK, Italy, Spain, France, Thailand, online, in kitchens I barely knew how to navigate.
A residential week in Tuscany in May, with a garden, a community, seven days to go genuinely deep, that is a different kind of transmission.
The end of all our exploring is to arrive where we started, and know the place for the first time.
Come find out what you already know.
