Melted Mix #6: "Late Night Ambient Lounge"

Hello, friend.

This month’s Melted Mix is a very special one. Last weekend, I attended a regional burn called Summerisle (a gathering inspired by and adhering to the principles of Burning Man). While there, I played this 2-hour ambient mix for visitors to my camp between the hours of 1-3 AM.

Throughout it’s runtime, I used a whiteboard to write the names of the track(s) and artists that listeners were hearing. It became quite a meditative practice, standing at the board, writing, sitting, listening deeply, standing, erasing, replacing.

I really enjoyed this experience and I hope the mix resonates with you. While many tracks stand alone on this mix, there are also many that I took time to layer together, and I found myself in awe of how well some tracks meshed together with quite minimal mixing from my hand.

This mix is the culmination of much of my ambient listening over the last couple of years, featuring some of my favorite artists and songs. There are also many artists featured who are friends of the Hum, Buzz, & Hiss community (thank you, friends).
