Dear friend,
I’ve been quiet for a bit. Not being on social media or paying much attention to emails has been glorious. But it’s time to get back in it with you and share something I’ve never said quite this plainly before.
For most of my career, I’ve carried two bodies of knowledge that most people keep in separate rooms. One is clinical — thirty years of hands-on work with the nervous system, credentials, research, the kind of training that lets me sit across from a physician and speak their language fluently. The other is something else entirely — the astrological, the mythic, the shamanic, the parts of the body’s story that (mostly) don’t show up on an MRI but show up in the room, every time, if you know how to look.
I’ve struggled with this for a long time. Not with believing both are true — I’ve never doubted that. I witness miracles uniting them all the time.
I’ve struggled with how to hold both at once in front of you without diluting either. Do I lead with the clinical and whisper the mystical? Do I lead with the mythic and hope the credentials quietly do their work in the background? For years I’ve moved between rooms, translating myself depending on who was listening.
I finally stopped trying to translate.
I built a room where I don’t have to choose, and neither do you. I call it the Soul Salon.
Think of it the way the word actually used to mean something — a salon in the old sense, the Enlightenment sense. A table where people who’d normally never sit together did, on purpose, because the friction was the point. That’s what I wanted: one home where the clinical and the cosmic sit at the same table, because in the body, they always have.
This is the path to the Revolution of Resilience that I want for everyone.
It’s the path to nervous system regulation for your soul.
It’s the path from the nervous system to the solar system resonance that will heal our deepest wound, our grief for our mortal relationship with our immortal self (aka that energy that cannot be created or destroyed - just changes form - for those of you who do not believe in a soul).
Inside, you’ll find the full arc of what I’ve built and the collaborators I trust most:
The Resonance Room — my membership portal, where we work with the nervous system as a pleasure-driven timepiece, not a machine to be fixed. It will include group events to leave the whole room objectively transformed in their bodies, office hours for your unique situation, and teaching you how to heal yourself and your family. CEUs or the material to submit to your board for credit will be available for clinicians for at least some of the events.
Crisis Alchemy, with Melissa Crim — a framework for nervous systems in acute or chronic crisis, built around the elements
Sex, Skin & Sugar, with Dr. Karen Pendleton — The science and art of longevity through pleasure
The full Weller Media Network — every show, every thread of the work, gathered in one place, including None of Us Are As Dumb As All of Us, a look at our collective consciousness.
It’s a tasting menu, not a single dish. You take what you need. You leave what you don’t. Nobody has to swallow the whole thing to belong there.
Here’s the part I’m most excited about: the Soul Salon will be available to everyone, everywhere, online — starting now. But I also wanted this to live in real rooms, with real bodies in them, because some of this work only lands when you’re breathing the same air as the people around you. So we’re bringing live gatherings first to New Orleans and Nashville, with more cities to follow.
If you want the Soul Salon to come to your city — just tell me. I mean that literally. Reply to this email and say where you are. I’m building this list city by city, and your answer is part of how I decide where we go next.
I’m still building the website, but I am so excited I can’t wait, and I don’t want to delay the chance to get you started.
👉 Join the first event July 31 here (I’ll send out the replay if you can’t make it live.)
For those of you in time zones that don't align with this, I will soon be adding to the schedule so you can attend live.
Come sit at the table. I’ve been trying to figure out how to invite you here for a long time, and I’m so glad it’s finally time.
With so much love, Melanie
P.S. If any part of this — the two bodies of knowledge, the years of translating yourself, the relief of finally not having to choose — sounds like your own story, I’d love to hear it. Reply and tell me.
