As fall rolls in and the leaves begin to turn, burgundy arrives as one of the colors of the season. It shows up year after year in shades of wine, merlot, oxblood, and deep cherry, bringing warmth and depth to fall wardrobes.
Burgundy works beautifully with the colors most of us already own, including camel, chocolate brown, gray, navy, ivory, denim, olive, and pale blue. You can wear it in place of black or brown, mix several shades together, or add a single piece to an otherwise neutral outfit.
This season, I’m especially drawn to burgundy handbags and shoes, along with sweaters, jackets, trousers, and easy matching sets. Below is a mix of clothing and accessories, some you can start to wear now, others you’ll be have you have once there is a chill in the air.
