Not our usual posting time, but this is a cool opportunity with a timely deadline:
About the opportunity: We are producing a branded editorial project with Hertz about Route 66 — the people, memories, and unexpected moments that make it one of America’s most storied road trips. We’re looking for a handful of travelers who have driven the route, all of it or just a stretch, to share their story in a recorded 30-minute phone interview. Your experience may be featured in the final piece.
Compensation: $200 USD for selected participants.
Application Deadline: August 3rd, 2026
Who we’re seeking: Travelers who’ve personally driven all or part of Route 66 and are comfortable being recorded. Open to applicants anywhere.
What we’ll talk about: What pulled you to the route and why then, the stops and stretches that stayed with you, who was in the car, the songs and conversations along the way, and the moments you didn’t see coming. Come with a story or two you love telling.
How to apply:
Where you’re based
Which section(s) of Route 66 you’ve driven (or if you completed the full route)
In a few sentences, your most vivid memory from the drive
Whether you have your own photos from the trip you’d be open to sharing (optional)
Links to any writing or social content (optional)
Please note: This is a paid opportunity for a branded editorial project with Hertz. Selection isn’t guaranteed, and only participants chosen for an interview receive the $200 USD. Selected participants will be asked to sign a standard release so we can publish quotes from the interview.
