A KIND OF VOYAGING FOREVER - CHAPTER 7 - The Panic Attack Room

Continued from last week’s episode…

“What do you propose we do about this?”

“Is there any chance of turning the ship around?”

We were now engaged in a life and death brainstorming session with the crew about what to do.

Maybe if we had awoken after the anomalous event there would have been a way to reverse our course. However we were now so far beyond the point of no return that there was nothing we could do but attempt a protocol for moving forward.

Finally, a voice of reason. “Look, the only way we’re going to figure anything out is by examining the data. Why don’t we return to our original awakening protocol and see if there’s anything else we can possibly add to this puzzle before making any rash decisions?”

We all looked at the red shirted junior engineer with the shock of a group which had suddenly been awestruck with the obvious.

“Alright!” Commander Stacey lived up to her rank and commanded everyone’s attention, “I want you to scour the data and see if there is anything that might be of use to us. We will meet back here in the morning. Get a good night’s rest everyone.”

The group dispersed and I went back to scrutinizing energy output readings.
