No more TLC for the SPLC

As Daniel Harris, aka Razorfist, observed in 2018, “This is what happens when the demand for racism exceeds the supply.” Maybe, just maybe, the jig is finally up. Founded in 1971, by the later-to-be-discharged Morris Dees (a former colleague of George Wallace), the Southern Poverty Law Center quickly became a fundraising juggernaut.

The organization raised hundreds of millions of dollars, using the most ridiculous scare tactics—and it worked. As if this weren’t enough, SPLC then created “hate maps,” of very questionable accuracy, including such notorious figures as Dr. Ben Carson and Turning Point USA on their hate list. However, they mysteriously never mentioned Antifa.

Finally, on April 21st, a Grand Jury in Montgomery, Alabama, returned an indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) with 11 counts of wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering.

“The SPLC is manufacturing racism to justify its existence,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Using donor money to allegedly profit off Klansmen cannot go unchecked. This Department of Justice will hold the SPLC and every other fraudulent organization operating with the same deceptive playbook accountable. No entity is above the law.”

“The SPLC allegedly engaged in a massive fraud operation to deceive their donors, enrich themselves, and hide their deceptive operations from the public,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “They lied to their donors, vowing to dismantle violent extremist groups, and actually turned around and paid the leaders of these very extremist groups - even utilizing the funds to have these groups facilitate the commission of state and federal crimes. That is illegal – and this is an ongoing investigation against all individuals involved.”

Between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly funneled more than $3 million in donated funds to individuals who were associated with various violent extremist groups including:

• Ku Klux Klan

• United Klans of America

• Unite the Right

• National Alliance

• National Socialist Movement

• Aryan Nations affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club

• National Socialist Party of America (American Nazi Party)

• American Front

SPLC set up shell companies and entities around America to deceive the banks and donors.

To no one’s surprise, top Dems, including Hakeem Jeffries, are condemning the indictment. But, don’t be fooled. They couldn’t care less about the SPLC. What they DO care about is that a major, major plank of their entire narrative for at least the past 50 years—systemic evil racism—looks like it is finally coming to an end. Never mind that the SPLC indictment is about a thousand times more ironclad than the ridiculous lawfare against Donald Trump.

Truth be told, the wheels were starting to come off the SPLC bus as early as 1995. In a lengthy New Yorker article entitled “The Reckoning of Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center,” the writer, a former SPLC employee notes…

During my first few weeks, a friendly new co-worker couldn’t help laughing at my bewilderment. “Well, honey, welcome to the Poverty Palace,” she said. “I can guaran-damn-tee that you will never step foot in a more contradictory place as long as you live.”

“Everything feels so out of whack,” I said. “Where are the lawyers? Where’s the diversity? What in God’s name is going on here?”

“And you call yourself a journalist!” she said, laughing again. “Clearly you didn’t do your research.”

Well, you get the picture. Slog through the New Yorker article at your leisure, but what it makes abundantly clear is that the SPLC is nothing more than a con game for bilking stupid Northern liberals out of their money.

You know, that when the dust finally settles on this matter, any Dem questioned about it will surely reply “Oh, that’s old news. Besides, we never supported them.”

Maybe, PT Barnum was the wrong industry.
