Over the past 8 years now, I’ve been learning, studying, and coding primarily with Python.

As new languages have emerged and AI has been taking over my feed on social media, I’ve found myself even more drawn to making sure that I become as good as I can at Python for many reasons.

Let’s go over some of these reasons and why you need to make sure you know Python going forward:

I’ve worked as a data engineer and in different roles involving data throughout my career, and the main thing I’ve used is Python.

Whether it’s training and deploying machine learning models, writing web scrapers for data collection, or creating a data pipeline, over 95% of it is all done in Python.

If you have any interest in a career related to data, AI, or machine learning, Python is going to be the language you need to learn.

On top of that, Python is very versatile when it comes to building applications, so you will be a well-rounded developer with Python.

On top of Python being the language of data and AI, it’s also one of the easiest languages to learn.

Python’s simple and readable syntax makes it an excellent choice for beginners, but it also scales up incredibly well for more advanced applications. This means you spend less time wrestling with syntax and more time solving real problems.

Because Python reads almost like plain English, you can quickly get started on meaningful projects without extensive coding experience.

Python is one of the most in-demand programming languages today and shows no sign of slowing down. Companies of all sizes—from startups to tech giants—are actively hiring Python developers for roles in data science, machine learning, AI, cybersecurity, and more.

By mastering Python, you’re positioning yourself for a versatile career with a broad range of exciting opportunities.

Whether your goal is working at a major tech company, freelancing, or building your own products, Python provides the skills and flexibility to make that happen.

No matter where you are in your coding journey, dedicating time to Python will open doors in your career and allow you to take advantage of the current technological wave driven by data and AI. If you haven’t started learning Python yet—or if you’re looking to deepen your skills—there’s never been a better time to jump in.
