Poems for Your Weekend

Dear Friends,

I made it through torrential highway storms this week to introduce Arthur Sze at our CWC session on Transient Worlds, his fantastic new anthology exploring poetry in translation. It was a mesmerizing session, and deeply inspiring to hear how the project connects to his work as U.S. Poet Laureate—Sze has made the imaginative and connecting powers of translation his central focus.

In other news, my book’s title poem was published in The Rumpus this week (a huge thank you to Roxane Gay!). If you would like to purchase a signed copy of If You Love That Lady for yourself or someone else, please send me a message—I’ll cover the shipping.

For this week’s round up, I posted a note asking you to share your favorite emerging poets. I have yet to read through all of the suggestions, but I’ve been very much enjoying the poems I’ve read so far—special thanks to Tom Snarsky for introducing me to Jo Ianni’s work and Haley Hodges for suggesting Acie Clark, both included below.
