Dear friends and lovers of poetry,
I recently discovered that very sadly, The Whisky Blot, a journal of literature, poetry, and haiku, which I believed had a lot of potential, has been discontinued.
The literary world has lost a fledgling journal—with loads of great writing—that could have become big one day, and into which founder Shane Huey poured lots of heart, love, and hard work. You can read Duotrope’s interview with him here.
The Whisky Blot published two of my poems: “Five Stanzas for Hemingway” and “Cava, Pimientos de Padrón, Burrata, Pasta al Tartufo,” which are still available via archive.org, here and here.
I wanna thank Shane very much for founding and taking care of The Whisky Blot—managing a literary journal in one’s spare time takes crazy amounts of work and dedication—and giving me the opportunity to publish my work. 🫶🏻
As always, thank you for your continuous support, and stay tuned for more updates on my work. And if you’d like to show your support by buying me a coffee, you can do so by clicking here. ☕
Cheers,
Max
