Cupcake Sunday

I have been intensely busy with a variety of projects. When you learn what they are you’ll know why I haven’t been getting the newsletter out regularly! I think we’ll have a public announcement of one of these Very Large but Very Secret projects next week. It’s a bit of a shocker!

I’m preaching at Access Church this Sunday at 10am. I happen to know it’s also Cupcake Sunday, which is not a trick: cupcakes are available after the service! Come hang out with us!

I’m relieved to discover that fascism is prohibited here in the state of Washington! This was on a cement traffic barrier near my house.

It’s hard to believe that my first graphic novel, God With Us, has been out for an entire year now. I’m so thankful for this project, and I’m thrilled that people are still finding it, reading it, and passing it on to kids in their lives. I did see a social media post this week that suggested maybe Adam and Eve weren’t wearing much, and I just want to say, yes, that’s true… JUST LIKE IN THE BIBLE! ;) (You can see Eve above in the lower left… like in most illustrated Bible stories, Adam and Eve have never seen a leaf or strategically placed tree without immediately putting themselves behind it.)

Meanwhile, in our own backyard:

Here’s Roger getting a rare treat: a macadamia nut! One of the best signs that Spring is here is that Roger doesn’t run and hide the food I give him any more, he grabs it, sits nearby and eats it while glaring at me.

Bruce has been eating all the bark off the remnants of our maple tree. He can’t reach much from the ground anymore, but I was still surprised to see him standing on top of the trunk.
