Hey Community!
I think one of the easiest things to do when you’re building something that represents yourself is to look around at what already exists.
What are other people creating?
How are they positioning themselves?
What does their website look like?
What are they writing about?
What’s working right now?
Now, there’s nothing wrong with paying attention… but I do believe your role isn’t to become a better version of what’s already there.
I believe it’s to understand your own interests, experiences, gifts and perspective well enough that you can bring something through them that feels distinctly yours.
The world is not only drawn to what you do… but how you see it.
It’s the way you explain something or the references you pull from.
It’s also the ideas you connect, the details you notice or the way you make something familiar feel new again.
Someone might find you because they’re looking for an answer... but they stay because of the way you uniquely help them see it.
And that’s where I think taste becomes much more interesting than simply having a nice-looking brand.
Taste isn’t reserved for designers, artists or people who were somehow born with a better eye.
I personally feel we al have the ability tol develop it.
Every time you experiment… every time you make something and realize it isn’t quite right…
Every time you’re drawn toward an idea, image, book, environment, piece of music, website, object or way of doing something and wonder why.
Every time you refine something… or you find yourself saying, “That’s close... but that’s not me.”
You’re learning.
And over enough time… those decisions begin revealing patterns… and you start understanding what you continually return to, care about, want more of and what belongs in your work and what doesn’t.
That’s taste.
When you begin trusting and developing it, your work starts becoming more recognizable because you become more present within it.
That’s true whether you’re building a company, writing a book, coaching people, creating products, publishing ideas, designing a website or developing an entire body of work.
You aren’t trying to be different for the sake of being different.
You’re developing enough clarity around your own perspective that you’re no longer constantly borrowing someone else’s.
And ironically, I think that’s also how creating becomes easier.
You have fewer decisions to make because you begin knowing what belongs.
You stop reinventing everything.
You stop collecting endless inspiration without knowing what to do with it.
You stop asking AI to tell you who you should be.
Instead, your tools begin working for your direction… and that’s what I want to help you begin building this Saturday.
By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your own taste, a simpler way to make creative decisions and a practical system you can continue using across everything you’re building.
This isn’t about becoming a designer.
It’s about developing your own creative direction so bringing what you see, feel and imagine into the world becomes easier.
Together we’ll explore...
How to stop second-guessing every creative decision.
If you're constantly changing the font, rewriting the page, redesigning the deck or wondering whether something feels right, the problem usually isn't a lack of creativity. I'll show you how a few clearer decisions can remove enormous amounts of creative friction. How to figure out what your taste actually is.
You probably already have more evidence than you realize. We'll look at what you continually save, notice, admire and return to… and begin identifying the patterns underneath it.How to turn inspiration into something you can actually use.
Saving references is easy. Translating them into your own work is harder. I'll show you how to move from "I like this" to understanding why you like it and what that tells you about your own direction. How to make everything you're building feel more connected.
Your website, content, presentations, products and offers don't need to look identical. But they should feel like they belong to the same world. We'll explore the simple elements that create that consistency. How to become more recognizable without constantly reinventing yourself.
Recognition comes from developing and repeating what is already working… not creating an entirely new identity every few months. How to stop starting from scratch every time you create.
We'll begin turning your decisions into a simple creative system you can reuse, so each new project gets easier instead of creating another hundred decisions. How to use AI without losing what makes your work yours.
I'll show you how I use AI to organize references, refine ideas, critique work, develop creative direction and move faster… while keeping human judgment, perspective and soul at the center.
We’ll actually put this into practice. I’ll walk you through how I’m using Claude Design inside my own creative process so you can see how taste, direction, systems and AI work together in real time.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking...
I know what I want to create... I just can’t seem to get what’s in my head into the world.
I know what I like... I just don’t know how to make it my own.
Everything I’m creating feels a little disconnected.
I have so much inspiration saved... but no idea what to actually do with it.
I keep changing things because I’m never completely sure what feels right.
I want my work to feel more intentional and less like I’m piecing things together.
I want to use AI to make creating easier... not make my work more generic.
I want people to recognize something distinctly mine in the way I do things.
I don’t need more inspiration... I need a clearer way to bring my own ideas to life.
Then this workshop is for you.

I think we spend far too much time asking what already works...
when some of our best work will come from paying closer attention to what wants to exist through us.
Your experiences, references, curiosity and perspective matters.
Not everything you create needs to be completely original...
but… and I say this clearly… nobody else has lived the exact combination of experiences that taught you to see something the way you do… which give you a distinct way of delivering something only you can.
Your role isn’t to conform to what exists... it’s to create what doesn’t.
And the clearer you become about your own taste and perspective, the easier it becomes to give that something a form other people can finally experience.
That’s what we’ll work on together this Saturday.
If this resonates, I’d love to have you with us.
See you this August 29th, 2026…
– Matt
