Founder Lindsey Wikstrom has been named Top 40 Under 40 Architects in North America! If you’re in Florida next week, she will accept her award at the World Architecture Festival in Miami on November 14.
We had a full house for our Archtober event on Climate Optimism at Head Hi. Sierra Bainbridge (Mass Design Group) joined us to celebrate her new book: Seeking Abundance (Axiomatic, 2026). Here are three take-aways from the talk:
Optimism is action. Design is a powerful tool to heal communities, heal habitats, and introduce resilience for generations to come.
Context is critical. When considering an approach towards biodiverse landscapes, agriculture, public engagement, regenerative materials and architecture, there is no one size fits all. Our role as designers is to create holistic approaches, tuned for specific places on the earth.
Listen with intention. To build in an effective manner is to listen to everyone at the table. Sierra shared her passion for learning from experts across disciplines and how this skill has helped her cultivate deep intelligence and to steward strong collective investment in the project’s success.
This week, Mattaforma kicked off a multi-family mass timber project in SeaTac, Washington. Pacific Northwest, here we come!
