I’ve been learning languages on my own for 18 years. Languages have, without a doubt, transformed my life for the better.
Thanks to my language skills, I’ve been able to live in Japan for over 6 years, in Korea for a year and a half, and China for 6 months. They’ve allowed me to meet people I now consider close friends and others that I met only once during travels but who were the highlights of these trips.
My world, in a way, has expanded thanks to having learned languages and that’s why I shared my love in this newsletter week after week.
This being said, I’d be lying if I said I had been consistently learning throughout the years. I’ve had highs and lows, and keeping track has gotten hard as years passed.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been more consistent in learning Mandarin in particular but I also recognize I am not as applied to my studies as I used to be.
