Salutations from the past, where I am prewriting this before I head off for a long weekend away and offline. Your girl turned in her master’s dissertation this week, and while I did my very best, I also have a supervisor who has never been fully on board for my idea, so I guess we’ll see! My coping mechanism now is to G the fuck O.
But first, on to the week…
Went to the closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games, and the presence of traffic cones was in full force. WHIMSY, MUTHAFUCKAS!
Also, the Duke of Edinburgh, aka Prince Edward, gave some remarks, and while he is one of the least problematic members of that family I can also confidently tell you I have never been in the presence of a person with less charisma. Less than zero. Like, he owes money to the charisma bank. Go girl, give us nothing!
Also, Simple Minds played on a stage shaped like the flag of Scotland. Jim Kerr has all the same dance moves from back in the day and I am at a life stage where I respect anyone who can squat, sing, and get back up again. Hey hey hey hey!
One thing about Scotland that sounds like a cliche but is real is that you WILL hear bagpipes every single day, even when you are strolling in a remote part of the park.
Let’s take a day trip to Edinburgh! The city is gearing up for Fringe and every poster for every show feels like a fever dream. A surprising amount of “adult magic.” Anyway…
