Hello there and happy Friday!
It has been a fun week of recording a new Jesus Speaks to Women podcast on the Samaritan Woman in John 4:
On the suggestion of a reader friend, I created a printable set of classroom posters and added them to the shop. This one is mostly inspiring quotes, but I could put together one with more Bible verses if you all would use them. Let me know!
I’ve been attempting, very awkwardly, to share content on Instagram more consistently. I have been trying different video formats and trying to figure out which one is most engaging for the platform, but also doesn’t make me want to pull out my hair in frustration. It’s a learning process . . .
I’ve been struggling with some anxiety this week. I’ve had a lot of ideas and struggle to prioritize them at times. I have continued my daily journal pages—on Google docs currently, which is where I’ve been pouring my frustrations and questions. That has helped. I’ve also developed a morning checklist to give myself some structure as I start each day. I also spent a few hours this week organizing my files in Canva to make things easier to find. Then I spend a long time cleaning my office, which quickly gets messy. It’s a continual struggle!
I’m loving trying some sewing projects. I learned to sew in high school and have always loved trying to alter clothing. I’m not very good at it, but I altered a few things in my closet last weekend that weren’t fitting quite right. It’s fun to revive a long-lost hobby!
I’m encouraged by this quote from Henri Nouwen’s book, Spiritual Direction: Wisdom for the Long Walk of Faith:*
“Forgiveness means that I continually am willing to forgive the other person for not fulfilling all my needs and desires. . . . Any relationship you enter into–in communion, friendship, marriage, community, or church–will always be riddled with frustration and disappointment. So forgiveness becomes the word for divine love in the human context”
I love this idea of continual forgiveness being the glue that makes all human relationships work and thrive.
Happy weekend everyone!
