What can the Living do
when the ones we love are gone, and didn't we know this would one day happen?
Did we not pause in the
busy motion of our lives
to understand that nothing is forever and the sorrow of one day losing those we love would be almost unbearable…
Must we go on when even the misery of absence is almost better than letting go? What can the Living do more than the life we already live? Must we eventually forget the promise we made to ourselves to love more, to give more? Refusing to ignore the need of those who are still here, may we allow all the power of our passion to rise up with a vigor beyond human strength, to give without counting the cost one more time. Although weary and broken in spirit, by God's grace may we love unconditionally those who are here in the world… one more day. Because at best, that is all the Living can do.
