To Where I Am Now

I thought, what on Earth is going on with the dishwasher? Then I realised it was thunder, and the chill had turned into rain. I went to the front where I could see out of the windows, and I saw one of the ladies of the daze motorbikes, a red Ducati Monster, and it reminded me of my deep yellow Ducati Desmo 250 café racer — and the wet seat in the rain. The bike had been there all night, she doesn’t usually leave it there overnight, the same spot as usual. I hope she’s OK. Then, as I wrote this, I smelt fumes and there she was out the front wiping the seat with the bike idling. I knocked on the window, smiled and waved. I was glad to see she was OK.
