Personal power is finite. You spend it or you gather it, every day, in ways many people never notice. By the time people understand what it actually is, they usually wasted years of it on things that gave them nothing back.
Castaneda’s teacher, Don Juan Matus called it the inner reserve a warrior accumulates through discipline, awareness, and especially impeccable action. This was not “power” in the usual ego sense. Not status, not dominance, not confidence as a posture. Something quieter, and harder to fake. The amount of usable energy a person has to act without being ruled by fear, to make decisions with clarity, to withstand solitude and danger, to follow a path with heart instead of a path of approval. A warrior gathers it. An ordinary man bleeds it without knowing.
