I started getting closer to Hekate a very long time ago. I didn’t know where to look for information about Her, and the information I found was strictly connected to history and tradition, so basically I relied on what was happening to me. I observed day after day what I was receiving and where this was leading me. At the beginning I didn’t know exactly what I was doing, but I was certain, extremely certain, that what I was doing would work. Not having any method available to me to connect with other devotees, my practice turned out to be the correct one, because it was true, it was deeply intimate and real. But this was only true for me.

Today I believe there is the opposite risk. Too much information risks obscuring the only thing that we should actually listen to, which is ourselves. Today’s newsletter will be exactly about this: Six Things I wish I’d known before I started working with Mother Hekate. How to maintain a traditionally consistent practice while getting past the infinite amount of information available today. What the most reliable sources are from my point of view, but above all, what are the things that I truly wish I had known before starting to go deeper into Hekatean Witchcraft and Devotional Practice. Study and information obviously take us far, but then we have to be able to integrate our knowledge into our practice, which is something I am still learning to do.

This is a piece that contains valuable information and it will be divided into two parts. This first part will be more personal, while the second part coming next Thursday will be entirely focused on ritual practice.

Thank you for being here, enjoy the read.
