I gather my thoughts and feel my horse under me
He feels steady and solid almost energetic
But certainly he is focused on the arena ahead of us
The music begins with its marching beat
We enter at A at a working trot and halt suddenly square at X
A barely audible WOW is heard from the crowd
I bow then gather up my reins
Latte feels the squeeze of my legs and tap of the whip
He springs forward into the working trot again
We do 8 meter walk circles at the March
And trotting circles while bending his body to the inside
We spring out of corners to lengthen stride for the medium trot
He stretches down his neck and out with the nose ears forward
For the stretching forward and downward free walk
As each letter comes into view I see only it and the ground before
While making serpentines acrossed the arena changing bend with each change of direction
I hear the last line of the music and turn
Down centerline we March until the last halt
Exactly in time with the music he takes his last step
On the last beat of music the crowd roars its delight
