I’ve always loved animals…as a child I used to go to the library and take out books on animals and I loved watching documentaries about the animal kingdom.
Then when I became a natural health practitioner in my thirties I used to sometimes have Animal Spirit Guides pop in during treatments with my clients to help and even knead the person’s back…that specific one gave me the fright of my life when I looked up (with my inner sight) into the huge head of a mountain lion right in front of me as it was kneading away on her upper back with paws as huge as soup plates omw.
So I’ve been working with animals in all types of ways for more than 30 years during my healing practice. But they were becoming more insistent that they wanted to connect with more people more directly and I was playing around with the idea of creating an animal oracle card deck for a long time since about 4 and a half years ago or so.
I had always been interested in graphic design, and as I had been doing my own designs for our business, I naturally started experimenting with some animal designs using digital collage techniques as I was just at that stage discovering digital scrapbooking online…but it was taking forever omw…at that rate I would take about 3 years to design animals for an oracle card deck and that was full time…I had a part time job and my own practice so where on earth would I fit that in and how long would that take?!
So naturally when I discovered AI art around the last quarter of 2022 I started experimenting. And it was a huge challenge to get Midjourney to create an animal image that looked like an actual animal. Eventually I managed to get the prompt right by dressing the animal up in armour…haha…that’s just me lol…what can I say…I love fantasy…
And I also experimented with different types of styles…great fun…
It soon turned into much more than just fun when Midjourney started showing some improvements and I plunged in with all four feet by gifting myself a subscription for my birthday (and Christmas) at the end of 2022 so that I can explore it in some more depth…
…and it turned into “oh I think I can actually finally start making some designs much faster and actually create my own oracle card deck”. So much so that I committed to do exactly that by a specific date, by signing up for a table at a local Holistic Festival market where I decided to present some Animal Totem spreads using my own deck of animal oracle cards…which meant they had to be ready and printed for that market…the first Sunday of February 2023…
I did have a deck by Jamie Sams with mainly North American animals…but I wanted to be able to draw from the whole world’s animals…and some mythical ones too like Dragons (of course), Unicorns and Gryphons.
I literally created designs for 111 animals in a 6 week period and managed to get them printed for the Sunday market…I fetched them ON the Sunday morning as the print shop could only finish them by then…I was still finalising the last design on the Friday morning…but I DID it!
10 people supported me on that first market day…it was amazing.
My plan was to only have my own set of cards so that I could use them for my spreads and mini draws for people at the market…but the deck drew so many compliments from people, even whilst I was standing in the print shop holding samples in my hand, that by about August when one of my clients actually sent me money for 2 decks, I was forced to design a box so that I could actually provide them to her in an acceptable format. My excuse for not having made a plan to print them yet was that I didn’t have a booklet to go with them. Her counter was that there was enough information on the cards…she wanted them please…here’s the money…and that was how my first deck, the Basic Collection of The DragonWeaver’s Magic of the Animal Kingdom Oracle Card Deck, spread to other people’s collections.
I’m based in South Africa so it was a huge issue to send orders via courier to anywhere overseas as the costs from us are so huge, it cost more for the courier than the actual deck of cards…so I did have them available on my website for a while and even sent some to Canada.
But eventually it was just not viable for me to have them printed as I needed them, digitally, like playing cards basically, as I couldn’t at that stage afford to get a whole lot printed in bulk. My local print shop was providing them to me at a vastly reduced rate so that I could still make a profit without them being too expensive but that meant that she was squeezing them in in between her other work and I sometimes had to wait if she ran out of stock, which was not ideal.
I then decided to look at a print on demand type of solution that was based either in the USA or the UK/Europe so that I could provide them to those markets more affordably.
Found the perfect platform and was working on it…and a booklet…when my whole world was turned upside down by what was starting to unfold for me after I broke my ankle earlier this year, at the beginning of May 2025.
During that cocoon period, everything began to shift. I started connecting more deeply with my Spirit Guides and, through them, with Gaia in a unique and fascinating way. I finally began to understand why the animals had been reaching out to me in the first place.
I am a Portal Guardian and as such I am connected into the energy grids and portals of the earth, so I’ve been doing intense grid-work within these structures for a couple of years now. My Spirit Team has started to show me that there are animals with specific functions all along Gaia’s meridians. That was the actual information the animals were wanting me to connect to and spread the word about…not just what everyone else have always been tuning into. There is a much deeper layer that I am uniquely linked to that I am now needing to more fully explore.
So before I create the next deck…I need to better understand this deeper layer.
For instance…on the Earth’s Fire Meridian, the Solar Plexus line, which distributes lifeforce from Gaia’s Zero Point through the volcanic and tectonic grids, the Yellowstone Caldera as a Fire Node is a major vent point for Earth’s primal fire and the transmutation of Atlantean trauma held in her magma layers. The Bison in this area hold memory of pre-human harmony with the fire plains, and the wolves track fire movements underground.
I am currently busy mapping the Earth’s Meridians, the nodes on them and how they flow and link into all the different layers of the Earth Chakra Vortices…and how the animals are connected into those layers. It’s much more complex than we have ever realised…so I am super excited for where all this is going…
This is but one tiny part of what I will be bringing into fullness in the Gaia Archive of Light.

These messages don’t come from cards or collective meanings….they come directly from the animals who step into your field in the moment, offering guidance, clarity or redirection that’s uniquely yours.
