Let’s Make America Normal Again

Earlier today I watched a clip of Trump speaking- or more accurately rambling. As he slurred his words and made odd snorting sounds, I thought “THIS IS NOT NORMAL.”

And then my brain ran with that thought. All the way back to the beginning.

It wasn’t normal that Trump was ever even a viable candidate. Here in NY we knew exactly what kind of piece of shit he was- a liar, a bully, a cheater, a grifter. Those things didn’t start when he took office. We also know that he was a crappy businessman who went bankrupt numerous times. And a draft dodger.

But then…

A video of him talking about being a sexual predator was released. And for some reason it was excused. Not normal.

He mocked a disabled reporter. Not normal.

He refused to release his taxes. And praised Putin. Not normal.

He claimed Obama wasn’t born in this country. (Until he much later said he was.) Not normal.

He called Hillary horrible names and later Kamala even worse names, suggesting she was a low IQ whore. NOT NORMAL.

He called female reporters horrible names too- like Piggy. And told them to smile more. NOT NORMAL.

He was elected again after being a convicted felon x34. NOT NORMAL. What is wrong with people???

He has made BILLIONS off his office. And then said he was awesome because he wasn’t accepting a salary. NOT NORMAL.

He blamed everyone for everything. Especially Obama and Biden. Because although he appears orange, he’s so green with envy he can’t stand it. NOT NORMAL.

He went on a renovation spree with taxpayer money and put his name everywhere he could. NOT NORMAL.

Because of Barron, he made up lies that link Tylenol and vaccines to autism. He decried science. NOT NORMAL.

He vindictively went after anyone who he perceived was an enemy. So many FRIVOULOUS lawsuits. Paranoid and NOT NORMAL.

He lied about his health and had everyone else lie for him. NOT NORMAL. No, he’s not in the best health of any president ever. He looks and sounds half-dead.

He called every accusation against him, no matter how much evidence was provided, a witch-hunt. NOT NORMAL.

He refused to release the unredacted Epstein files. Sickening and NOT NORMAL.

He defied judges and ignored the Constitution. NOT NORMAL.

He tried and continues to try to end free and fair elections. NOT NORMAL (at least in this country).

He rewrote history and said January 6^th was a “Day of Love.” He pardoned those who took part in the insurrection. He pardoned so many other criminals as well. NOT NORMAL.

He encouraged the Proud Boys and other neo-Nazi groups. NOT NORMAL.

He cut programs for children and the poor and made his billionaire buddies even more wealthy. NOT NORMAL.

He called climate change a hoax. NOT NORMAL.

He destroyed the White House, the People’s House, acting as if it belonged to him alone. NOT NORMAL.

He stays up all night posting truly bizarre rants and AI images depicting himself as Jesus, George Washington, a younger, way more virile version of himself, etc. Just last night he posted himself as the greatest president ever. His fantasy life is richer than that of Walter Mitty. NOT NORMAL.

He keeps taking (WHY?!?!) and talking about “acing” cognitive tests. NOT NORMAL.

He said he wouldn’t start any new wars. And then proceeded to start new ones, including an endless one with Iran for reasons he kept changing. NOT NORMAL.

He lies continuously. About winning that war in Iran/controlling the Strait of Hormuz and about everything else. NOT NORMAL.

He tried to hide the seriousness of the pandemic. NOT NORMAL.

He appointed uniquely unqualified individuals to his administration. NOT NORMAL.

He changes the names of things like Lake Ontario to taunt other countries. Immature and NOT NORMAL.

At this point, anyone who supports, defends, or believes him is not normal as well.

We have to keep reminding ourselves and everyone else that NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL or acceptable. And that to get back to a semblance of normalcy we need to get out there in droves and vote. Just like voters did in Hungary.

Midterms are in 67 days. Let’s Make America Normal Again.
