Cherry blossoms are everywhere in Tokyo this week and there’s no need to trip over the hordes thronging the better-known viewing spots.
However, in a few more weeks these blossoms will have all fallen and be replaced by a sea of green leaves until what passes for autumn - two or three weeks in November - puts in an ever briefer appearance. Such is the rhythm of life as a tree in 2026.
And here are some of this month’s highlights:
Last month’s decision to watch only Japanese YouTube content has worked boast of the time. I’ve now gone one further and elected to only use the desktop machine (the one with a monitor) at weekends. That tightens my stranglehold on wasting time consuming slop.
Started and stopped a few books because they weren’t my cup of tea. Life’s too short and my reading list too long!
Aiming for fifty push ups (press ups in the UK) six times were week. Because I can only hold form on twenty-one at present, I do twenty-one in the morning, and then another twenty-one plus eight more in the evening. Weird, I know. But it’s working.
