Some thoughts about guidelines and regulations.
I tend to think of guidelines like cooking: You can adjust the ingredients, and as long as you stay in the vicinity, you can end up with a decent result. In short, guidelines are suggestions from experienced people.
Regulations are more like baking. More precise, with possible negative repercussions if you don't follow the rules.
Of course, if you've never attempted baking a cake, especially from scratch, you might not get the analogy.
We need regulations, otherwise, some people who care more about profits than planet and/or people would just wreck everything to get another fancy watch or a yacht or some other truly unnecessary thing.
Some more thoughts, which may or may not seem related:
Research shows that brain function is related to writing things out by hand, which is why it’s making a comeback in our schools.
"...national guidelines should be put into place to ensure that children receive at least a minimum of handwriting training."[3] Audrey Van Der Meer
Now, I think I’ll go write something in cursive (aka longhand or script.)
Hope you have the best possible day.
Ox,
Mari
