all this getting through

The way I be resurrecting myself in spite of everything that ever tried to bury me. The way I be resurrecting myself in the face of those who tried to destroy me. The way I be moving like the wind, moving like God beneath my wings, like God command his angels concerning me.

All this getting through. I think that’s just a part of life — the trials and tribulations, the midnight hour. It’s part of the making of my being. It shapes me. It makes me a more defined woman, a wide woman, a full-range woman. The valley is where the deepening happens.

It equips me to see and taste and experience life in entirety.

All this getting through. Enduring not for the sake of merely surviving. Enduring to gain texture. Enduring to gain wisdom. Enduring to gain glory. Enduring to go and meet God somewhere in the midst of.

All this getting through. Learning to dance, learning to bend, learning to breathe, learning to witness.

By means of God. By means of all the prayers I know are covering me. By means of my own will and accord.

The way I be resurrecting myself back into existence time and time again. Willing myself back into life. Knowing that I got all this life left inside of me, just waiting for me to exhale. All this holy verse I be filling my mouth with. All this prayer dancing on my tongue, just waiting for me to believe in the force of my amen.
