Margreet de Heer · Margreet’s Comics

For the recent StripGlossy crowdfunding I offered the reward of Immortalization - through cartoons!

The next issue of the magazine will be all about aging comic characters (Lucky Luke turns eighty! Heer Bommel and Tom Puss turn eighty-five!) and I drew several backers at the age they are now and at the age they want to see themselves at in the future:

Elise sees herself happily at eighty with her husband, still going strong
Simone foresees that at eighty, she might still be working as an elderly care nurse…
Stef keeps on fishin’

I also asked their mottos for growing older, and got back a few gems:

Boudewijn
Bram
I so agree with Niek here - sleeping is my hobby!

Some even dared to venture beyond the grave!

Jan
Emiel

And then there’s this cute Aging Process for the Queen Bee:

All of these and more will be featured in the next StripGlossy Magazine.

The wonderful Dee Fish asked me to contribute one panel to a really fun comic about the reality of being a comic character. You can read it here:

Here is my panel - but you really need the whole comic for the context:

When I’m not drawing, I’m working in the garden these days! I’ve laid out my own flowerbed for sunflowers, doing everything wrong (planting them too late, too close together, in a way too exposed spot) but fortunately they’re really resilient (only three out of eleven didn’t make it) and today, the first sunflower started to bloom!

Yay!

This picture is a bit blurry because man, is it windy outside!

That’s my own handmade fake ruin flowerbed. And those are the neighbors’ chickens. Nothing much fazes them.

If you want to see more chickens and garden, check out this comic from last year:
