A (Not Very Tragic) Tragedy

My former favorite coffee mug.

Hello, Friend,

The Frankencorn has grown at least another foot since yesterday. Seriously. It’s beyond cornprehension.

I’m cornfounded!

Cornfuffled!

Dazed and cornfused!

Cornsternated…not to be confused with cornstipated.

I’m not sure when they’re coming for this corn, so who knows how tall it will be at that point. There will be updates.

Meanwhile, I have lost yet another favorite coffee mug.

This is the second such (not very tragic) tragedy in the past year. I suppose having a favorite coffee mug was my first mistake. I have a collection of Fiestaware mugs in two styles, and they’re lovely, but they’re just a leetle too smol. Every time I find a new mug that has the perfect weight, volume, and entertaining theme, they break. Sometimes they fly out of my hands, which do this weird flappy thing on occasion. This time, the handle broke off as I lifted the mug from the dishwasher.

It just snapped off in my hand.

The nerve of that handle.

I got this mug at a thrift store for a dollar. I love(d) this mug. Criminal Minds is one of my favorite shows. For the record, I don’t want to marry a fictional character who is almost two decades younger than me, though I did marry a real man who is almost a decade younger than me.

But I digress…I just thought the cup was so funny that I had to buy it.

I’m going to miss this stupid funny perfect mug. I could buy a replacement on eBay, but there isn’t a mug exactly like it there and it wouldn’t be the same anyway so I guess I’ll just let go and carry on without it as best as one can.

Perhaps a festive Snoopy mug will ease my sorrow?

Don’t even get me started on Snoopy, because I will go on and on about it and you will find it annoying. Yes, I’m a 62 going on 63 year old lady who loves Peanuts. There’s zero shame in my Snoopy game.

I really have to make some art soon. I’ve been procraftinating like a mother…shutyourmouth! I have all of these ideas, but I can’t seem to summon the enthusiasm. Why is my muse so mercurial? Why are we living in the stupidest timeline? Why am I writing about Frankencorn and broken mugs?

What does any of it mean, anyway?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Dig it? Share it! Thank you.
