Hello and welcome to Margin Scribbles, my monthly newsletter where I share updates on mahjong, art, events, inspiration, and life in Destin, Florida. I’m so glad you’re here!
First things first….
Launch Party tickets are LIVE! There are 40 available spots for each party. Come for one, come for all, I’m just so excited to celebrate with you and finally get these mahjong sets out in the world!
When you purchase tickets, you will have the option of preordering your mahjong sets at an exclusive discounted price. You will also have the option of adding additional sets to your order for launch party pickup. Launch party sales will be preorder only!
If you’d like to attend more than one event, you can add each ticket to your cart and check out altogether at once. Click below for ticket links!
Each party will include open play on the Emerald Coast mahjong sets and mingling with other coastal mahjong enthusiasts, exclusive first access to the collection, signature cocktails, swag bags, and giveaways! Our Thursday and Friday events will feature Bradley of Moonfruit Studio hand painting mahjong card folios live.
For those that can’t make it in person, I’ll send out a link July 26 so you can order online! Other than the launch party pickups, I won’t be doing preorders for this drop, but may consider it in the future if that’s something y’all like. Feel free to respond to this email with any questions!
In other Mahjong news, my Coastal Christmas sample tile set came in and we are having so much fun playing with them! The design is inspired by things I love about living on the coast, with all kinds of holiday critters and red snapper scale backs. They are now in production and should be available in early November, so if you’ve been thinking about a holiday set, I’d be honored if you would consider mine. 🥰
I had the privilege of leading Craft Club this month. We got together with stacks of our children’s artwork and collaged them onto canvases that can be displayed on playroom walls. Everyone did an amazing job!
Thank you to all who attended our 2025-26 Destin Craft Club season! Getting together every month to craft and yap was a highlight of my year.
We typically run a Fall to Spring season, taking a Summer break for Destin’s busy season. Stay tuned for our 2026-27 season announcements in the coming months! If there is a craft you’d like to try, a class you’d like to lead, or a teacher you’d recommend, please respond to this email or comment below so we can tailor next year’s offerings accordingly.

Another beach sketching session? A dream! I spent Mother’s Day on the beach and my kids miraculously spent most of the time playing together in the sand and I was able to sketch in my beach chair. A perfect day.
This Montana painting was a commission near and dear to my heart. Some friends asked me to create it for their good friend who got married recently. The bride’s favorite poem The River by Jim Harrison was read at the wedding, so they requested it be included in the artwork. Little did they know, Jim Harrison is a favorite author of me and my husband, so much so that our son Harry is actually named after him. As the bride said, “what a wink from the universe.”
I’ve seen so many Instagram Reels about having a 90s summer, and when I reflect on it, I think that’s exactly what we try to do every summer. Nothing makes me feel happier than spending a day in, on, or around water followed by a cozy afternoon reading, crafting, baking, or movie watching with my kids.
A couple things we use to stay on track for this mission: my Destin Summer Bucket List and my Summer Boredom Menu. We’ve been creating these for years and last year I turned them into printables so you can enjoy them as well!
