I’m not in a bad mood. Seriously.
But I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of seeing these “experts” giving out some of the most cookie-cutter health advice while making sure everyone knows they are really smart.
As a neuroscientist, do you know it’s unhealthy to spend 15 hours a day on Substack?
As a neuroscientist, do you realize you can get a natural tan by eating seven bags of Cheetos every 24 hours?
As a neuroscientist, did you know you can lose weight by not eating food?
As a neuroscientist, can you tell that I’m full of bullshit?
The list just keeps going on and on and on and on….I don’t know if it’s obvious or not, but I can’t stand people who try to appear smart or act like they are an expert because they spent two minutes reading an article on Wikipedia. Or most likely spent 15 seconds generating some of the blandest takes imaginable thanks to the wonders of ChatGPT.
We can all claim to be neuroscientists and any other fancy title with a few clicks of a button.
These people are as annoying as all of the fake philosophy and Stoicism accounts floating around on Substack. If I see one more profile photo of stoned Marcus Aurelius with that “I haven’t enjoyed anything since 164 AD” look, I might just lose my mind.
Anyway, I think it’s time for me to touch grass. It’s only 99 degrees outside with 80% humidity.
