Are you manifesting ? I mean, are you doing it well ? Here’s a tutorial for making all of your dreams come true. Your biggest inspiration owes it all to a simple pray- no, not a prayer !!!! This time it’s real, it’s quantum physics, it’s a magical reward given to those who truly deserve it and if you don’t, it’s either because you didn’t believe hard enough or that you don’t qualify for the young rich and pretty club. Manifest your career, manifest your (rich) boyfriend, manifest your entire life, manifest a world record, manifest your most gruesome ego trips into reality because now you can, with a simple thought before bed.
Through the hidden tears, some pretty influencer is telling you that everything she got, she got it because of a thought. Not because of work, not because of pre disposition ( you know, family connections, money, beauty, the right environment …), not because of sheer luck in the matrix, not because of absolute dedication for that matter, but just the power of a thought. The power of wanting so much it’s granted to you. Why can’t she believe in her own practice, in her own talent for understanding the threads of the web ? Believing in yourself sounds corny it seems.
She was a little girl, precious and spoilt. She asked and she received. All grown up now she thinks the universe is like daddy, an all mighty father who gives to those who pray enough. She’s as pretty as she is sad, that’s why she’ll never believe she got there all by herself. So, how is it that when you do it, you don’t end up on billboards and luxurious trips ? What are you doing wrong ? Why won’t your manifesting work when it seems so easy for all these online gurus?
Manifesting, do you know what it is ? I don’t know anymore. I hear it left and right, I hear it for the weather, I hear it for a car, I hear it for a job, I hear it for the subway that seems to be waiting for you when you’re just on time, I hear it for any little happy ending to the point it’s starting to sound like the corridors of a psych ward. Did we suddenly all get manifesting psychosis ? You say manifesting, I hear fear. The fear of not believing you deserve anything lucky or anything good unless you had to follow a few specific steps written in the big book of smokes and mirrors.
The other day I was talking to a friend who told me about this new job she was so happy about. She apparently manifested it. Curious, I asked how she managed to generate such a blessing out of nowhere. She told me she got online and looked for a job through an app. She applied. She was qualified, she got the job. My jaw was on the floor. Through the floor. If I had bones made of steel it would have gone through the center of the earth and back around in its initial place. By manifesting she meant doing exactly what you’re supposed to do in any situation : put herself out there, worked for it, was qualified because of a strong resume and was hired. Nothing less, nothing more than the very usual and realistic ordeal of life. I don’t really have an issue with the stories people tell themselves at night : if you don’t believe you’re good enough by yourself without the input of a magical force up in the sky, that’s fine with me I guess. What makes my skin crawl is when people only quack about manifesting and forget about the very tangible reasons why they are where they are.
One thing I agree on is what you’d call the law of attraction, to an extent. I do see how approaching life through a positive lens brings more good than harm, even though I’d love to know what lens I was approaching life with when I was sexually assaulted as a child, when my father died or when I was stolen 3 years worth of salary by an agency, these are merely just examples but you get my drift. I think these little stories about manifesting or the law of attraction take on the forgotten role of bed time stories, lullabies and churches. A little bit like Santa Claus too. You think it’s an old guy bringing you gifts when truly it’s your parents, working their asses off all year to get you what you so desperately wanted.
I agree and I don’t. There was a time lullabies worked until they proved to be a hell of limitation, a hell of complication, a hell of “what if I lose my magic powers”, what if the universe decides I’m not the one anymore. The thing with manifestation is that it helps until it cripples. I’ve gone through the worst, have I manifested my downfall ? Have I manifested death? If our thoughts are the reason why we win or lose, then what happens if I fail to think of pearls and rainbows all the time ? Can anyone only think right, straight, upwards, bright ? I don’t think bright thoughts, although I force myself too, it then becomes a new cell for my head.
Never trip, never fall, think only good or the outcome will be on you.
