Oh Canada! Visit Manga Mavericks Books at TCAF 2026!

Oh Canada, here we come! Manga Mavericks Books is visiting our neighbors to the north to showcase our manga in the best comics show in the world!

That’s right, this weekend we’ll be tabling at the venerable Toronto Comics Arts Festival, aka TCAF! Since 2003, TCAF has celebrated the best in comics by hosting hundreds of comic artists and indie publishers, drawing in comic fans, academics, librarians, and upwards of 28,000 visitors all united in their shared love of comics! And the best part? The whole event is FREE to attend!! We’ve wanted to visit TCAF for a while, as they’ve hosted incredible manga artists over the years including Kamome Shirahama and Junji Ito, and this year they’re hosting many of the artists featured in the MINT project including Keita Katsushika, Tokushige Kawakatsu, Marco Kohinata, and Battan, who also designed one of the posters for this year’s event! We’re so excited to not only attend TCAF for the first time this year, but to exhibit our books there as well!

You’ll be able to find us at TCAF on both Saturday 6/6 and Sunday 6/7 at table 140 on the 3rd floor, aka the Hockey Arena, of the Mattamy Athletic Center. As usual, we’ll have most of our books for sale at our table, including our remaining on-hand stock of First Time in Taiwan as well as Princess Da Huang and Other Tales before its official retail date on 6/30 (we’ve got less than 10 copies left of each!), and our long-awaited reprint of ALTERNATIVE[SELF LINER NOTE]!

And if you’re yearning for Yuri and been looking for BL, we’ve got you covered with Mutsumi Natsuo’s My Date is a Total Ike Woman, Hanakage Alt’s Senpai no Kohai, the Aneido’s Anthology boxset, and for the very first time, we’ll have on-hand the raucous and raunchy BL manzai comedy manga Funny Bone! It’s a delightfully hilarious manga that’ll tickle your funny bone and then some, and TCAF is the first event you’ll be able to get your hands on it in English, so don’t clown around and come on down to our table to make sure you bone up on this BL!

All of our books will all be available in CAD at special discounted rates for the convention, with each book at least $1 off the usual MSRP!
