The Hypocritical Arrogance of our Muslim Elite.

Lord Nazir Ahmed is a pivotal figure in the Muslim politics of the UK who has campaigned for decades against what he claims is this country’s systemic…. Islamophobia.

Yet in an irony that may feel familiar to anyone who has locked horns with the trans lobby all the time Ahmed was bleating about his victimhood and maligning Britain for its bigotry he harboured a dark secret. In February 2022 he was jailed for the gang-rape of an 11 year old boy and the sexual assault of an under-age girl.

A conviction like this would have ended the career of any politician unfortunate enough to have been born with white skin or a cis (sic) gender identity (whatever that means). But if you are a leading Muslim agitator the normal rules don’t seem to apply. Earlier this month the Sunday Times revealed that despite his tendency to rape children Ahmed was given a starring role at a high-profile event aimed at wealthy Pakistani-Brits.

The man in the blue suit striding proudly alongside Ahmed is a prominent Muslim Labour MP.

When confronted Afzal Khan MP claimed he hadn’t realised Ahmed would be at the event. And when he had noticed him he’d immediately left. Or so he said. These claims seemed at odds with photographs showing Khan sitting alongside Ahmed for the duration of the event.

The Times’s story was presented as a case of a bizarre misjudgment on the part of an individual MP. But it is much more important than that. It offers us a glimpse into the behind the scenes culture of a highly-politicised minority’s leadership. A culture that’s fuelled by grievance and entitlement that ends up awarding predatory men a sense of impunity.

This then is the extraordinary story of Nazir Ahmed’s rise, spectacular fall and audacious attempt at rehabilitation. It involves bare-faced lies, child sexual abuse, exploitation of vulnerable women and rabid anti-semitism. As well as two jail sentences. That none of these has derailed Ahmed’s status within the Muslim lobby should act as a warning to anyone who cares about the future of British democracy.

For our fellow Muslim citizens it is nothing short of a catastrophe
