Next Weekend: Experience Three Days of Fine Craft on the Coast of Maine

Whether you’re making a day trip to Mount Desert Island or already spending the weekend on the coast, the 49th Annual Guild Fine Craft Show: Mount Desert Island is worth adding to your plans.

Browse an inspiring collection of fine handmade craft from juried Guild-level members of the Maine Crafts Association alongside invited guest artists from Maine and beyond. From one-of-a-kind gifts and heirloom-quality homewares to statement pieces for your collection, every booth offers exceptional craftsmanship and the opportunity to meet the artists behind the work.

Kick off the weekend at our Opening Celebration on Friday, August 7, from 5-8pm, featuring live jazz, fellow fine craft enthusiasts, and sweeping coastal views. Throughout the weekend, you’ll have the chance to explore work by 50 talented exhibitors across basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, mixed media, paper, and wood.

Make time to explore the beautiful College of the Atlantic campus while you’re here. Wander among its historic cottages and contemporary sustainable buildings, then take a short walk to experience Andy Goldsworthy’s permanent installation, Road Line.

Come hungry! On Saturday, Black Sheep Catering will be serving lobster and crab rolls, fresh wraps, salads, and more. On Sunday, WaffleME rolls in with its famous Liège-style Belgian waffles - available sweet or savory - along with coffee drinks and affogatos for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Ticket sales support the programs of Shop Maine Craft and Maine Crafts Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to connecting and supporting Maine artists. A $5 admission provides access to all three days of the Guild Fine Craft Show on Mount Desert Island. Admission is free for attendees under 18. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the show admissions table.
