3,905 readers have voted in the inaugural Akdang Pinoy Choice Awards, and Maharlika has made it as a finalist for two categories: Maharlika Vol. 2 for the best Science Fiction release in 2025, and Vol. 1 for the best Science Fiction title before 2025!
This is important to me for a couple of reasons:
One, we gauge our success first and foremost by the impact we have on readers, and so a recognition from a broad base of book lovers (not even just komiks lovers!) will be a strong testament to our efforts there.
Two, the people behind Akdang Pinoy have been some of our earliest supporters—readers who found something special in Maharlika before we were even sure we had something worthy of an audience. I don’t think we could have gotten where we are without their passion & love for this story!
That said, this one is up to the vote of thousands of readers beyond the organizers—and we are going head to head with some beautiful works by talented friends and contemporaries!
Regardless if you count Maharlika as your top choice, your favorites deserve your vote on the poll :) So go and support by December 26:
