herky jerky
scabby and warped
speckled yellow spine
crooning for some lunch
mumbling “easy peasy”
as he gnawed that greasy
burger down for sport
sunburnt scalp piercing
scattered shade
comported in a tangled dance
of mouth watering, biting rage.
onlooking pedestrians gasp and run
as this toothless eater
bites with greed
with beady eyes
locked on his meaty prize.
once the feast is finished,
the scavenger belches loud
stinging the senses of those in proximity
caught in the odorous cloud.
while they worry and perspire,
the street eater finds a crumb to chew
with a content pleasure,
already planning his next adventure.
a sad soul?
who knows.
it’s his life
and he does what he does.
What do you think — is the Street Eater a sad soul, or has he figured something out the rest of us haven’t?
The world is getting stranger and it helps to have a place to make sense of it.
Here you’ll find absurdity, satire, dystopian reflections, and whatever thoughts manage their way into my brain and want to get out.
Some of it will make you laugh.
Some of it might make you think twice.
All of it is part of the same thing really.
Trying to understand the world by stepping just outside of it and more inside of my head.
Come muse with me.
