A quick reminder that our August First Friday Gallery Night is this Friday, August 7th!
As shared earlier, we are featuring Oliver Rose and his new zine, Poems from a Fall Flower (live poetry reading around 6:30 PM), with open space for any members who want to share art, writing, or music.
Here is what else is coming up at MACRE this month and beyond:
We are co-hosting a booth at the upcoming Artist Market on Friday, August 14th alongside our partners at Village at Ithaca!
Village at Ithaca does vital work in our community advocating for educational equity and supporting local youth and families, and we’re proud to build alongside them. Stop by our joint table to grab some freshly printed MACRE stickers from Ry and pick up a copy of Oliver’s new zine!
Local MACRE members Oliver, E, Georgia, and Seth are putting together an Art & Thrift Market to benefit MACRE on Saturday, August 29th from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM! All vendor fees and specialty drink proceeds go directly to supporting the collective and helping us keep the lights on. 💡
Seth has been working hard to get the side street shut down so we’ll have plenty of outdoor space. Plus Oliver is gonna bring his chainsaw one of these days and clear space for seating/vendors/a stage, etc. on the creekside of the building.
Here is a preview of what’s lined up:
Ambient music set by E, plus interactive art and performances throughout the day
Thrifted clothing and a specialty coffee drink served by Georgia
Zine sales, custom typed poems, and vinyl records from Oliver’s personal collection

Cost: FREE for all MACRE members!
We are also gearing up for Porchfest on September 20th! We’ll be hosting a full afternoon of local music, community hangouts, and open space. Stay tuned for our complete lineup and schedule coming soon.
Looking ahead, applications for our next MACRE Incubator Cohort open this September for our Fall/Winter residency (running November 2026 through January 2027).
Whether you are an artist, filmmaker, writer, organizer, or have a creative project in the germination phase that you think aligns with our MACRE vision—and are looking for dedicated space, equipment access, and community support to bring your work to life—this is for you.
