This post contains spoilers for the recently completed mystery knitalong!

The final clue of Believe: An MKAL the Lasso Way has been revealed for several weeks now, and it was quite a ride, wasn’t it? Stadium seating, dumpster Fire stitches, Diamond Dogs, etc…and a familiar construction with an unexpected twist of BBQ sauce at the end.

I loved designing each and every stitch of it, and while it’s not been a secret, the entire shawl is a love letter to the wonderful tv show that has its 4th season this coming August.

I loved knitting and writing every bit of it. Still, the most joyful thing about a mystery knit is the incredible number of color combinations that you all come up with and are so inspiring. They make the same pattern look entirely different, and let everyone put their own color sense to it. You can learn so much about color play this way!

Take a look at the soft, sweet look of Zohu’s shawl on Ravelry:

And Adrenabee’s Beard After Hours fantastic version pairing a warm tobacco shade with a stunning steel blue and soft pink:

Meanwhile, Casenda on Ravlery went all-in with the autumn shades that are making me yearn for fall:

If you’re looking for some color inspiration, do check out all the wonderful shawls in the project pages on Ravelry—we had such a great time knitting this up and supporting each other, and even though I tend to feel like I’ve crashed after a sugar-high when an mkal winds down, I’m gonna miss this one.

Meanwhile—I’ve got a few new patterns in the works that you’re gonna love, including one that is particularly awesome for any science-y and femiKNITst-friendly knitters among us. It’s such an easy and super-portable knit that it might just be the perfect summer project to geek out on.

Here’s a sneaky peek:

And yeah—I might have a thing for purple…This one will be out at the end of the month when there’s also a Big Announcement to share with you.

Whew! That’s all for now—Enjoy whatever is on your needles, and wherever you are on your knitting journey, I’m so glad to have a seat next to you in your inbox today:)

Happy knitting,

Mary (aka Lyrical Knits)
