The Suite Spot is the newsletter extension of Lux Travels Insider, where I share hotel offers, beautiful villas, and thoughtful notes on the art of traveling well.
I spend hours researching the most beautiful places to stay and the offers worth knowing about, so you don’t have to. Free subscribers receive a monthly preview with select recommendations, while upgraded subscribers get full access to every edition, including the stays, offers, and under-the-radar finds worth booking.
I just came home from three weeks in Tuscany with a very full camera roll, an even longer list of notes, and so many new recommendations that I couldn’t wait to share with you. One of the first things I did when I returned was completely refresh my ebook, The Ultimate Guide to Tuscany.
While the new edition is shorter than the original, it's significantly more useful. I reduced it from more than 60 pages to a cleaner, thoughtfully organized 45+ page guide because I wanted it to feel like something you'd actually reference while planning your trip
The result is a beautifully organized, clickable guide that helps answer the most important Tuscany questions:
Where should you stay?
Which part of Tuscany is right for your trip?
Do you need a rental car?
Which wineries are actually worth visiting?
Where should you eat?
How do you turn all of those ideas into an itinerary that actually makes sense?
I’ve been getting so many requests on Instagram for more places to stay, so I significantly expanded that section. You’ll now find a curated collection of resorts, winery hotels, romantic borgos, relaxed agriturismos, and private villas throughout Florence, Chianti, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, and the Val d’Orcia.
The villa recommendations include important details such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the atmosphere of each property, nearby towns, and the amenities that make it worth considering. Whether you’re planning a romantic trip, a family vacation, or a week in Tuscany with a group of friends, you can quickly find an option that works for the way you want to travel.
I’ve also updated and expanded the restaurant recommendations, with separate sections for Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Chianti, and the Val d’Orcia. You’ll find everything from coffee and pastry shops to casual trattorias, beautiful countryside lunches, and restaurants worth planning an entire evening around.
Tuscany can be surprisingly difficult to organize because its most beautiful towns, wineries, villas, and countryside hotels are spread across a large region.
That is why the guide is organized by destination.
Each regional section explains what the area is known for, how to get there, what to do, and which experiences you can book nearby. There are direct links to wine tours, cooking classes, vineyard lunches, truffle hunts, artisan workshops, private transfers, hotels, villas, wineries, and restaurants throughout the guide.
You won’t have to search through dozens of tabs trying to remember which winery was close to which town or whether the villa you loved was actually two hours away from everything else.
I’ve already done that part for you.
The new guide includes:
Essential planning links and answers to the most common Tuscany questions
Regional guidance for Florence, Chianti, San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino
Carefully selected tours, tastings, cooking classes, and countryside experiences
Luxury hotels, winery hotels, borgos, agriturismos, and private villas
Standout wineries throughout Chianti, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, and Montalcino
Restaurant and café recommendations organized by destination
Nearly 200 clickable links to help you continue researching and booking directly
Whether you’re planning your first trip to Tuscany or your fifth, my hope is that this guide helps you spend less time researching and more time looking forward to your trip.
And for anyone reading who previously purchased the guide, you do not need to purchase it again. The updated edition has already been emailed to you complimentary as a thank-you for supporting the original version.
