Correction: DIY & Manufacturers Solar Cooking Forum is May 23! & be a part of a worldwide solar cooking pot luck livestream?

I was looking at April’s calendar whenscheduling the May forum. It is Saturday, May 23, not the 25th. 11am, Central Time Zone (Chicago, USA).

Another fun way anyone can participate in the Festival!

I had a great visit today with David Chalker, whose hybrid solar box cookers set the bar for a cooker that could be deployed 24/7.

While recalling solar cooking history and discussing the festival, he suggested that one livestream could during the 18 days could be a Zoom call, with individuals setting up to cook in their own back yards, at a park or anywhere they could log into the call via zoom. One by one we would turn the zoom screen to them, and for a few minutes, describe and show what’s cooking!

This would be a way to “have everyone over for some solar dishes” and experience long distance the main reason we enjoy such a renewable energy fellowship—food!

Email me if you’d like to be a part of one or two days where all we do on a zoom call is cook with sunlight!

We could even take your zoom calls during the Solar Pot Luck in Tucson, on September 12! Then you could meet the Tucsonians who set the bar high for solar pot lucks, having hosted one major event every year since 1983 (except for 2020 during Covid).

That’s all, one correction and one new event planned for the festival :)
