My love for stripes is well-documented by now I think. From the dining bench in the kitchen to the headboard in our bedroom, I have a lot stripes at home. In fact, I think you might be hard pressed to find a single room without something striped in our house. I’m not sure if it’s beach towels, summer parasols, circus tents or Twister ice lollies, but stripes have always felt inherently nostalgic to me and better yet, they are endlessly versatile. If in doubt when decorating, I stripe. And to me, stripes just get better the more you pile on top of each other which has proved a happy ethos for a new collaboration I’ve been working on.

I’ve joined forces with fellow London-based stripe-obsessives Colours of Arley to source and breathe new, stripy life into a small selection of vintage chairs alongside a corresponding collection of curated striped cushions of all shapes and sizes. Aptly named Take A Seat (anyone who knows me, knows I love a sit down and a chat), the stripes are all named after memories of travel, home and favourite comforts, from plum wine in Tokyo and burnt toast in my kitchen to winter mornings in my childhood bedroom.

The furniture pieces are one of a kind so once they’re gone they’re gone, but you guys are the first to get access to see and shop the lot, just click the link below….

Paying subscribers, I have a code for you that gives you 20% off all the cushions for the next 48 hours. I’ll drop it in the subscriber chat and it’s also under the paywall of this newsletter at the bottom.

I’m won’t lie; it’s actually been a bit of a struggle not to keep every vintage chair for myself (I will be mourning those Pinewood chairs particularly hard) but I do love the process of finding a great piece and making it even better. Blame it on my problematic tween penchant for movies like She’s All That and Miss Congeniality maybe, but giving vintage pieces a makeover and shooting them in the good kind of light really does scratch a lifelong makeover itch. Thankfully, the cushions are already propping up every available surface area at my house so the stripes themselves have all made their way into my home.
