What day/time/week is it again? It’s been a whirlwind that’s for sure.
Milan Design Week was the marathon I knew it would be, only this year I made sure to plan proper meals with friends and spread it out across three days which is just enough but not so much that I’m on my knees by the time I get home. The stunning, previously unseen, Palazzo Olivazzi designed by Osvaldo Borsani and once home to Albert Einstein and family, was opened to showcase furniture by design studio Interni Vernosta, and the eclectic wares by independent makers and designers exhibited at Alcova were the real highlights for me.
Getting to combine the pretty fabulous T Magazine party with my first viewing of the stunning Villa Necchi was amazing too - I could have spent the whole party just wandering around the villa looking at every detail. Oh and did I mention Martha Stewart came and sat on the next door table to us for dinner on our last night at L’Gianciomo bistro? Irrationally excited by that one. I loved the colours and textures (and horse-shaped coffee biscuits) seen at Hermes and the Flamingo Estate x Kohler party might have taken the podium for the best party - the fact the DJ was playing Janet Jackson and Lykke Li and we got given Flamingo Estate candles on the way out might have had something to do with it. But I do now firmly have my eye on this sink for Cornwall.
MVPs in terms of my Milan suitcase were the cutie patootie Valesque bag - comes with me everywhere now - the Jude wedges which were crazily comfortable from first wear (I ran in them no less, five minutes in) and the Milne Watson necklace which instantly makes me feel like summer’s here, even if I’m still in knitwear and socks.
I managed to lose not one, but two pairs of my favourite sunglasses in the last month (I cannot be trusted!!) but found these new (to me) Raybans in the airport that I’m now obsessed with. Such a great shape.
