I have been offered - and accepted - a position as a reporter for a local publication. To that end, I have removed the From the Ramparts and The Smoking Section tabs, as those contained most of my commentary.
While informed opinion writing (and I’ve tried to be informed) is a respected part of journalism, news reporters should refrain from engaging in it.
I’ll still post links to interesting pieces I write on music topics, but will refrain from offering an opinion on the issues of the day. Posts here will appear more rarely, and I’ll cancel any paid subscriptions as there will be no value proposition to them.
