In 2010, my heart stopped.
The hospital team worked on me for 39 minutes. Most people you read about who survived a near death experience were gone for seconds. Maybe a minute. I was somewhere else for thirty nine. When they brought me back, I came back changed in ways I am still unpacking 16 years later.
I did not say a word about it publicly for 15 years.
Not because the experience was not real. Because I knew what happens to women who speak openly about things that cannot be measured or proven. I knew about the ridicule, the dismissal, the cruelty the internet reserves for people who have lived something the rational world does not have language for. So I kept it quiet.
I built a 29 year career as a real estate broker. I raised my son alone. I worked through my own grief and trauma in private. And I quietly used what I came back with, a particular ability to recognize when someone’s brain has locked down under pressure and to move them through it with clarity, in every difficult conversation, every grieving family, every person who landed in my office in the middle of something they could not navigate alone.
For 15 years that was enough.
It is not enough anymore.
The world is in too much pain right now for me to keep protecting myself at the expense of what I have to offer. So I am here. All of it. The near death experience. The 29 years of professional work. The book that won the Living Now Silver Medal. The new book, The In-Between: From Crisis to Clarity, coming out on September 19, 2026. That is my 16th anniversary of coming back. I chose the date deliberately.
This Substack is where I write about what I actually do.
I sit with people who are in the moments other people in their lives do not know how to hold. The grief that has outlasted everyone’s patience. The decision that has to be made while the body is still in shock. The house where someone died that has to be sold while the family is barely upright. The betrayal that broke something the betrayed person cannot yet name. The near death experience nobody around you understands. The collapse of a life that no longer fits.
I am not here to fix anyone. I am here to walk with you from crisis to clarity, one step at a time.
This is a safe space. To grow. To unravel. To rebuild. To say the things you have not said out loud to anyone yet. There is no judgment here, no performance required, no version of yourself you have to be before you arrive. You can come in tired, broken, angry, lost, hopeful, terrified, all of it at once. That is exactly the kind of human this corner of the internet was built for.
I am the ride or die kind of girl. If you are in something hard and you let me in, I do not flinch and I do not leave. I have been on both sides of the hardest line a human being can cross, and I came back with a particular kind of steadiness for the people who land in the middle of their own crisis. One step at a time. That is the whole pace. That is the whole promise.
If something you read here lands, I would love for you to subscribe and read along.
