My Substack earned $5,218 in the first half of this year. Paid subscriptions, collected. Real. In that same six months, my business pulled in over $214,000.

My Substack is quietly connected to almost all of it. That number is the whole point of this post.

Most people treat their newsletter like it’s the business. They watch the paid-subscriber count like a scoreboard. They get discouraged when the subscription money is small. I want to show you a different way to see it, because it might open your eyes a bit to what else is posssible.

I’ve only had a paid newsletter for six months. I’m still learning. Still growing. Still testing things that flop.

But I’ve been in digital marketing for a long time, and I’ve coached a lot of people building online businesses. When you’ve done this long enough, you stop looking at any one channel by itself.

You start seeing the engine. Where the traffic moves, where trust gets built, where the money actually changes hands. I’m quick to spot the pattern. And I love handing it to people so they can grow faster than I did.

Here’s the pattern I see, and how you can use it.

Look at where my money actually came from this year so far. You know I always bring receipts. But keep in mind that my income is not typical, or guaranteed. We will all have our own unique results.

Affiliate income was the biggest lane by far. People buying tools I teach and recommend.

Coaching and courses came second. People who wanted to go deeper.

Then publishing. Ebooks, blog, YouTube, and yes, the Substack subscriptions.

The Substack subscription revenue is real. But it’s a slice. The subscription is not where most of the money lives. Not yet anyway, although I believe it could be eventually.

Here’s what most people don’t get.

The newsletter is what makes every other lane work.

Someone reads a free post. They trust me a little. They click an affiliate link because I actually use the thing. They notice I coach, and months later they join. They grab an ebook. None of that shows up as “Substack revenue.” All of it started on Substack.

The newsletter is the front door. The money is in the rooms behind it.

I’m not telling you the subscription doesn’t matter. Mine made $5,218 and it’s growing every month. Last month, it was over $1,700, and this month it will likely pass $2,000. Remember, it’s only been 6-months.

I’m telling you that if you only measure the subscription, you’re missing the machine it’s actually running.

I’m going to give you the exact system I’m running right now. Not theory. The moving parts, and the order they go in.

This is the part I wish someone had handed me on day one.
