Hello, I’m spending 3 days in Kyoto and would like someone to check my itinerary, as I’m finding it hard to navigate all the things to do.
Day 1:
Arrive at 12:30 PM from Mishima. Check into the hotel to drop off bags (right next to Gion).
Set off on a walking loop from the hotel: Heian-jingu Shrine / Imperial Palace Gardens / Nijo Castle (is it worth visiting the interior?)
the area around Nishiki Market
first visit at Pontocho Alley and Gion.
Day 2:
Kiyomizu-dera very early in the morning
the Philosopher’s Path, with some leisurely strolling among the temples along the way
We have a 4:00 PM reservation at Katsura Imperial Villa to see the gardens
Shopping or rest at the hotel
Gion at night
Day 3:
Fushimi Inari very early in the morning (we want to do the full walk without rushing)
Kinkaku-ji, a tea ceremony nearby, ryon-ji, Ninna-ji
possibly some shopping before catching a train to Osaka in the late afternoon.
What do you think? Thanks!
