How’s this for a heady dose of summer escapism?
Rooftop restaurant Kitty Hawk is in its wanderlust era, with a French Riveria-style makeover for its sunsoaked terrace and a new menu that invites guests further east, via a sumptuous selection of Mediterranean and Levantine-inspired sharing plates.
You’ll find it on the top floor of Page8 Hotel, itself nestled between Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, at 8 St Martins Place. Head on up and step out onto Le Jardin Soleil: a newly designed al fresco space created in partnership with St-Germain elderflower liqueur.

From its elevated small plates to heartier grilled dishes, Kitty Hawk’s new menu is designed for sharing. Begin with warm handmade pittas, scooping up whipped cod’s roe, red pepper muhammara, and aubergine caponata. Move on to sizzling lamb koftas or Lebanese chicken souvlaki. Fancy a larger feast? There’s the likes of butterflied seabass with roasted pepper, or pistachio and pomegranate-bejewelled lamb shoulder.
Le Jardin Soleil was designed in partnership with St-Germain, and this supremely summery liqueur takes centre stage on the cocktail menu. Choose from classics like the Hugo Spritz or St-Germain Spritz, or opt for a margarita with an elderflower twist. We’re also coveting the Mediterranean Martini: an elixir of San Marzano tomato-infused Grey Goose vodka, Noilly Prat, tomato extract and basil oil.
At Le Jardin Soleil, coastal blues meet flourishing lemon trees to transport guests to the French Riviera. The views, however? Those are quintessentially London. From the terrace, you can bid salut to St Nelson’s column, the majestic spire of St-Martin-in-the-Fields and the dome of the National Gallery. Le Jardin Soleil’s central location makes it a magnificent choice for post-sightseeing dining...
