We found a new burger place in Gresham that we really like. Local Cow is a wonderful place in downtown Gresham that serves up a variety of burgers sourced locally. The Mirror Lake Trail is located in the west end of the parking lot for the Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. There is a vault toilet at the trailhead that is open year-round. The trail starts out level for the first half mile and slowly starts the uphill climb to the lake. It's a great 3–4-mile loop for hiking, running, or snowshoes. There is a great lake trail out in eastern Clackamas county that runs around Timothy lake. It's about 13 miles round trip or just do a simple out and back if you don't need the miles. It's a beautiful lake trail used by a lot of runners and mountain bikers. There are many great campsites with vault toilets right off the trail as well. The Salmon River Trail is a long meandering trail that runs along the Salmon River just outside of Welches Oregon. Look for the Salmon River Road on the right, just before Lolo Pass Road on the left when headed up to Mt. Hood.
Lost lake off of Lolo pass road is our favorite place to kayak. You can get there from either the Gorge (Hood River area) or highway 26. I think it's faster from the Gorge side and Lolo pass road is closed in the winter months. We've been there many times and it seems like it always great weather. It can be busy so get there early unless you want to sit on the road waiting for people to leave.…
The Heist food carts in the Woodstock neighborhood are one of our favorite places for dinner or lunch in Portland. There is a great indoor bar with plenty of seating and a wide selection of area beers and drinks.

The Ramona Falls trail is one of my favorite summer trails along highway 26 outside of Portland. It's a long scenic trail with great views of Mt. Hood ending with a cool, air conditioned picnic area at the base of Ramona Falls. The trail connects to the PCT as well as the Timberline trail so your options for distance are unlimited.
We have a favorite Chow Mein dealer in Portland at the Springwater Trail food carts. The Bamboo Cafe food cart has been our go-to choice for Chow Mein now for a while. I'm not sure what it is, but they just have the best option that we enjoy the most. We have tried others but keep returning. The overall food cart experience isn't that great at Springwater, the beer selection and lack of seating…
The Hawthrone Asylum is always a great choice for food while visiting Portland. It has an attached bar with plenty of seating for a year-round experience. One of my favorites is a Phad-Thai burrito.
